We've discovered a new drink that everyone drinks in Florence (all the locals, that is). It's called an orange spritz. It's awesome. Some sort of orange liqueur, champagne, and soda water.
We went to the uffizi gallery, which had a crazy long line, and we saw the Venus on a half shell and a few hilarious paintings of midgets. We're becoming desensitized to sculptures and paintings after seeing so many, so I think we need to take a break from museums.
Then we saw some buildings, and went to the market and I bought a lamb leather wallet. Michael is on the hunt for a belt.
We went to a place called "yellow" for lunch which was decent, and got gelato at Vivoli (again... Actually the best gelato I've ever had in the world). Then we went to the Michaelangelo lookout, which is an amazing view of the entire city. It was unbelievable. We climbed up hills, and it was quite the trek, but definitely worth it. We also obviously drank a giant beer on top.
Then, we were wandering around near some steep cliffs, and we found a random bar thing right on the water. Turns out, it was another one of those all you can eat places, except this time it was only 5 euro each for a drink and as much pasta as we wanted. Sounds ridiculous, and trust me, it was.
Then we wandered down by the water, and saw a rodent beaver thing that Michael said was a Capybera. The worlds largest rodent. Random and awesome.
Now we are in the hotel, about to set off for the gelato festival, where I will be drinking another orange spritz.
Tomorrow, the duomo!
